Taylor Swift foi indicada pela primeira vez ao Hall da Fama dos Compositores (Songwriters Hall of Fame) para a classe de 2026. O anúncio, feito nesta quinta-feira (23), também revelou uma lista de peso que concorre à honraria, incluindo P!nk, LL Cool J, David Byrne (Talking Heads), Sarah McLachlan e os membros fundadores do KISS (Gene Simmons e Paul Stanley).

A indicação de Swift, de 35 anos, levanta uma questão comum: por que só agora? A resposta está nas regras da organização. De acordo com o comunicado oficial, um compositor só se torna elegível para a indução “20 anos após o primeiro lançamento comercial de uma música”. Como a carreira de Swift começou no final de 2006, ela se qualificou este ano para a votação da turma de 2026.

O Hall da Fama divide seus indicados entre “compositores-artistas” (que interpretam as próprias canções) e “compositores não-intérpretes”. Na categoria de não-intérpretes deste ano, destacam-se nomes por trás de sucessos globais, como Walter Afanasieff (co-autor de “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, de Mariah Carey), Patrick Leonard (colaborador de longa data de Madonna em hits como “Like A Prayer”) e a dupla Terry Britten e Graham Lyle (autores de “What’s Love Got To Do With It”, de Tina Turner).

Os membros votantes da organização têm até o dia 4 de dezembro para submeter suas escolhas, selecionando até três nomes de cada categoria. A cerimônia oficial de indução e o gala de premiação da classe de 2026 acontecerão em Nova York.
